Asian refiners plan significant petrochemicals capacity growth by the next decade to stay profitable amidst evolving energy trends, according to speakers at APPEC.

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. adopts Univation's UNIPOL PE Process Technology for a new production line at its Paradip Petrochemical Complex. The facility will produce 650,000 tons of polyethylene per annum, including both LLDPE and HDPE, addressing diverse applications in the Indian PE market.

BASF has opened a new production facility for alkyl ethanolamines in Antwerp, Belgium, increasing its global annual production capacity for these chemicals by nearly 30% to over 140,000 tons per year. This expansion enhances BASF's existing production network.
